In California, there are thousands of children in the foster care system. The majority of these children can never return to their birth families. They are waiting for the one thing they need most: a loving permanent family.

The Children

In California, children in foster care are primarily African-American and Latino. They may be part of sibling sets of two, three, four, or more. Most of them are age 6 and older, though some sibling sets include younger children.

Children in the foster care system are special kids, often with special needs. Some have been abused and neglected, exposed to drugs and alcohol before birth, or experienced trauma. With your love and stability these youth can thrive and become productive, happy adults.

Why Adopt?

Every person or couple that adopts will have their own reasons, but at the heart of it is the desire to provide a family to a child who desperately needs one. Our goal is to find a family for every child. Children who are not adopted by the time they turn 18 will "age out" of the foster care system, and must enter the adult world completely on their own. More than half of these young people will become homeless or be incarcerated within two years of their emancipation.
